Hard to believe that January 2012 is already almost half through! 2011 was a challenging year for many, including my family. We decided to move from San Luis Obispo to Paso Robles, and doing so presented many challenges. 15 years of living in the same place, along with accumulating many things from multiple households, created a massive task of sorting, packing, selling, moving, and even more sorting and selling. Who knew that some of the hardest tasks would end up being one of the best things we could do? The realization that I did not have to keep things just because they were old, vintage, antique – or had belonged to family for many years – this was really big!
Yes, I knew how much work it would be as well as having to make these decisions. But once started, it became more freeing than I ever imagined. A great lesson learned – that it is ok to let things go. Not only ok, but really necessary. No one really NEEDS to have so many possessions – we just want them, or have a hard time letting go. What a big distinction and realization.
2012 is a new start in so many ways. I am so excited to be completing my 4th year as Spring 2012 Season begins with CAbi, sharing new surroundings in my new home, and thoroughly enjoying country life. Let’s hear it for a new year!
